"Downtown Vieux Fort is definitely not Rodeo Drive.  I am moving this coming Friday to a beach house in Point Sable for cheaper digs and an awesome view."

"If you use MS Virtual Earth, this is a link to Where is Waldo – er Bruce with annotated push pin locations.  I landed at Hewanorra Int’l airport on April 9th and will be around and about until June 24th."
Introduction
From the webmaster: I was wandering around here and decided a little intro was in order. For those who don't know, my cousin Bruce "Ricochet" Smith is considering retiring to St. Lucia. This 2009 visit is a prelude, where he'll decide whether moving here "permanently" is a good idea or not.

"A Frenchman I met who owns the windsurfing concession turned me on to these new digs and it’s 20% cheaper too.  They let me use their car anytime I want and there are a couple of rum shacks across a stream and a restaurant is by the windsurf shop.  I prefer my own cooking though."

St. Lucia Info: Languages, Government, Living Costs, Digs
"The main languages here are English and French with French patois (Cajun) for the locals – it changed hands 14 times during its history.  It is a member of the British Commonwealth and has a parliamentary government.

My landlord does construction and environmental engineering/consulting, grew up in England after moving there from Grenada .  He got his degree in Germany and worked there a while.  The Prime Minister’s brother stopped by yesterday to discuss a new project.

This place is running $30/day with driver service to town/airport or anywhere else locally – not Castries .  I have cable TV and wireless internet with a full kitchen and guestroom.  It’s a regular cottage –photos attached."
